Who this is about

This policy covers thewallacegroupworldwide.com, the website of The Wallace Group. It explains what happens to information you give us here.

We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything below is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

What we collect

Only what you type, plus one technical detail we need to keep the site working.

• When you use a form on this site: your name, your email address, your organization if you choose to give it, whichever options you tick, and whatever you write in the message box.
• When you subscribe to updates: your email address.
• When a request reaches our server: your IP address, used to limit how many submissions can come from one place in a short period. This stops the forms being abused. It is not used to identify or profile you.
• If you have a staff login: your account details and a session that keeps you signed in.

What we do not do

This is a short list on purpose. Most of what a privacy policy usually has to disclose does not happen here.

• We do not use analytics. There is no tracking or measurement code on this site.
• We do not use advertising, and we do not run advertising cookies or pixels.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Ever.
• We do not embed third-party content. There are no social widgets, no embedded videos, and no external comment systems. Even the fonts are served from our own site rather than fetched from Google.
• We do not ask you to create an account to read anything, and we do not require one to contact us.

Cookies and what your browser stores

There is one cookie, and it is only set for people who sign in to administer the site. It keeps that person signed in and does nothing else. If you have never signed in, this site sets no cookies at all.

Your light or dark theme choice is saved by your own browser, on your own device. It never reaches us.

How we use what you send

To reply to you, and for nothing else. A form submission is emailed to The Wallace Group so a person can read it and respond.

If you subscribed to updates, we use your address to send you those updates. You can stop them at any time by asking.

We do not add people who contacted us about something else to our mailing list.

Who else sees it

Two suppliers, both because they carry or host the message. Neither uses your information for their own purposes.

• Amazon Web Services delivers our email. Your submission passes through their mail service on its way to us.
• DigitalOcean hosts this website and its database.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Submissions arrive as email and are kept in that mailbox. Our servers also record that a submission happened — the name, email address, and which options were ticked — so that a message can be traced if it goes astray. What you write in the message box is not recorded in those server logs, with one exception: if the email fails to send, the full message is written to the log so it is not lost.

We do not currently delete these automatically after a fixed period. When we introduce a retention schedule we will say so here.

Your choices

Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, using the contact form at /contact. We handle these by hand today, so please allow us a little time.

If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Union, or another place with data protection law that gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, or objection, those rights apply and we will honour them.

Where your information goes

This site and its suppliers are based in the United States. If you contact us from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.

Children

This site is for adult leaders and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and submissions are sent to us over an authenticated mail service. No website can promise perfect security, and we will not pretend otherwise — but we hold very little, which is itself a protection.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
